As you know, Grove’s Head of School search committee and Board of Trustees have worked for almost a year to find a new Head of School. After reviewing the valuable feedback we received from parents, faculty, staff, and students gathered during and shortly following the October 24 and 30 candidate site visits, the Board has selected a candidate to hire and offered the position.

We are excited to announce to The Grove School community that Andrew Christopherson, who has been leading our school on an interim basis since July, has accepted the Board’s offer to serve as Head of School.

This is Andrew Christopherson’s 20th consecutive year working in public education in the Inland Empire. He taught social science at The Grove School from 2006-2019 and has served in administrative roles at the school since 2013.

Before coming to work at The Grove School, Andrew was a history teacher and department chair at Serrano Middle School in San Bernardino.

Andrew holds a Master of Arts in School Administration from the University of Redlands and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science from Azusa Pacific University. He also has received the Montessori Orientation to Adolescent Studies.

Thank you again to everyone who was able to participate in our meetings and shared your feedback, which was instrumental in our decision. We appreciate the support and trust you have placed in the search committee and the Board throughout this process and look forward to continuing to work with Andrew and entire The Grove School community going forward. If you have any questions, please contact board@thegroveschool.org.

Respectfully,

Lisa Kensok, Board Chair

Andy Schadwinkel, Search Committee Chair
