Farm Family Work Day – Saturday, Nov. 3, 8am-noon
Farms never stop and the one at Grove is no exception. Come out with the whole family to help with work this Saturday, Nov. 3, from 8am-noon, concurrent with Farmers’ Market. A few of the tasks we will be working on:
1. Polishing up the new orchard! We need to bring the trees down in size to make harvesting more manageable as well as plant some lupines to both encourage pollinators, make it pretty, and give us the chance to harvest cut flowers for market come this spring!
2. Help in the beginning stages of our chicken coup expansion! We want to increase our egg production but we need more space for more chickens. We will have marked spots for digging the holes for the new posts. Count it as upper body exercise for the day!
3. Then, of course, there is the usual array of farm work, should you prefer to help us weed (always needed!). |
