On Monday, April 29 at 7pm in the Barton Schoolhouse, the Grove School and Montessori in Redlands host a parent education night with Dr. Peg Dawson, staff psychologist at the Center for Learning and Attention Disorders at Seacoast Mental Health Center in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. She guides us through the concept of “executive skills”, their connection to success, and how to support students in their development. The latest research in child development shows that many kids have the brain and heart to succeed, but lack or lag behind in the fundamental habits of mind required for getting organized, staying focused, and controlling impulses and emotions. Learn easy-to-follow steps to identify strengths and weaknesses, as well as recommendations for activities and techniques proven to boost specific skills, and problem-solve daily routines. Please RSVP to let us know that you will be in attendance!
